Substance Exposure & Child Maltreatment
Description - Training For Adults :
Because approximately 66% of all
child maltreatment cases involve substance
abuse, FCCAP created this training to address
the increase in substance use disorders of
alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamine and other
legal/illegal drug use by parents. The focus is on
women and girls who are pregnant. FCCAP
utilizes prevention education materials from the
American Academy of Pediatrics, CDC, Dr. Ira
Chasnoff and other expertise in pediatrics to
educate parents and females of child bearing
ages on the dangers of substance exposure to the
fetus, infants, children, youth and thus the entire
family. Minimum 1-hour training.
